VETERANS PROGRAM LIAISON

Immediate opportunity exists for an energetic profession to join National Able Network’s Veterans Forward team at its Lake Street office. In this exiting position, you will be responsible for a broad range a duties including: recruiting veterans for programs; intake and assessment; referral to outside agencies for supportive services as warranted; establishing employment goals; delivering program orientation and training; providing job search assistance and working with local companies to identify leads, and supporting Veteran employment with retention services.

QUALIFICATIONS
•Previous military service is strongly preferred.
•Bachelor’s degree required.
•Able to manage multiple projects and produce results in a fast-paced environment.
•Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines and consistent, reliable follow- through.
•Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Experience with database systems preferred.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Strong service-orientation and interpersonal skills to develop rapport and work successfully with a diverse population of clients, co-workers, potential employers, and other external agencies
•Must be able to occasionally work evenings/weekends and travel locally when necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collect and organize check requests, receivers and invoices to prepare for data entry.
• Collect and organize incoming mail. Notify responsible parties of any invoices that need to be processed into purchasing system.
• Date stamp all A/P paperwork including check requests, receivers, bills of ladings, packing slips, receipts, invoices, and any other relevant attachments.
• Data process invoices in purchasing system and AP system accurately and efficiently, while auditing the invoices against purchase orders to identify discrepancies such as price variances, weight entry errors, and G/L account code errors.
• Work with the Accounting, Receiving and Purchasing departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Review invoice entries for accuracy and proper documentation, then proof invoice batches in AP system and turn in for posting.
• Keep good communication with internal and external personnel to ensure all invoices have been received and entered.
• Organize checks and invoices to prepare for scanning and storage.
• Scan checks and invoices into storage software.
• Maintain accounting files.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
• High School Diploma.
• Prior data entry experience.
• Strong math skills.
• Experience with computer software including Excel and Word a plus.
• Possess the cognitive ability to identify potential problem areas from information presented.
• Ability to communicate with Team members and guests.

Part-Time Telephone Operator – Governors State University

The position will greet visitors and students. The position will also answer, assist, and direct all incoming calls received at the switchboard. Disseminates information regarding university events. Provides accurate information to all callers. Maintains console database for individual workstation, handles complaints, and emergency calls. Assists in creating and maintaining spreadsheets. creating documents, data entry for databases, and providing customer service.

The rate of pay is $9.20 per hour. The work schedule for this part-time position is Monday – Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Totaling 18.5 hours/week. Possible additional hours Monday through Friday before scheduled shift.

Minimum Qualifications 1. Must be a resident of the State of Illinois.

3. Basic knowledge of operating a computer.
4. Must be able to sit 7.5 hours or more each day.

Immediate Opening-Closure Agent

The Closure Agent position is responsible for documenting and recording all information from posted meter closures throughout the city.

Principal Job Duties:
• Photograph City signs which close a metered parking spaces.
• Record information from City signs to determine the length and time of a closure.
• Complete a Closure form documenting all Closures discovered throughout the City.
• Verify permits provided by the City are compliant with the number of spaces obstructed.
• Measure in linear feet how much parking is affected by the closure or obstruction.
• Report any issues found as field discoveries to Central dispatch.
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualified candidates must:

Have a valid drivers license with no recent moving violations or outstanding parking tickets

General knowledge of Chicago streets

High School Diploma or GED

Stable work history

Experience in General Labor is a definite plus
